A reminder that Yeovil Town Ladies play their Somerset FA Women’s Senior County Cup Final match tonight against Keynsham Town. The game takes place at Shepton Mallet FC, with a 7.30p.m. kick-off. There will be a "small" admission charge for the game.
Keynsham will go into the match as favourites, currently playing in the National Premier League Southern Division. They have been holders of the County Cup for the past three seasons, but the Glovers are looking to enter the National Division themselves, as part of their promotion campaign that is still very much alive, and so will see this as a useful test of how well they would be likely to compete in the division above.
Ladies captain Sarah Lawler certainly sees the match that way, and has told the Ladies official site that this is a big opportunity for people to see what Ladies football in the area is all about:
"This will be a great game for us as it will give us a real measure of National League football, and it is always great to play in any cup final to hopefully show-piece the talent on offer in Somerset. All the girls are up for it and we have done our homework over their last three games which may help us prepare for the match. Please come up and support us for the 7.30pm kick-off on Thursday night at Shepton Mallet FC. We want our green army there! It is a cup final and anything can happen."
