Brentford boss Andy Scott has said that his half time team talk on Saturday centred around his conviction that they could still get back into the game. The Bees boss said that he felt that after Yeovil scored early on through a Gavin Tomlin penalty that the Glovers were sitting back on the 1-0 lead and felt his side could still get back into the match.
Speaking to Brentford's official site, Scott said that the Glovers did not have a shot on goal after the penalty until Tomlin's last minute effort that nearly won the game for the Glovers:
"The attitude and application were fantastic on a hot day. To get a point was a good result. Yeovil were waiting to get beaten. They got lucky with the penalty and until the last minute did not have another attempt on goal. We knew they were there for the taking. It's 11 games unbeaten now and we want to get to the end of the season unbeaten."
On the third minute penalty - given for an apparent handball by Bees striker Charlie MacDonald, Scott remained tight-lipped, pausing only to say:
"It's cost me a lot of money talking about referees this season, so I'll let you draw your own conclusions."
The 1-1 draw at Griffin Park has seen some fall-out in the Brentford camp, with Huddersfield Town right-winger Lionel Ainsworth being told by Scott that his loan spell with the Bees is as good as ended, after he stormed off down the tunnel after being substituted by the Bees boss during the second half. The winger, who once scored a hat-trick against the Glovers whilst playing for Hereford United, had a fairly quiet game, and Scott said that Ainsworth would not be playing next week, even if that left Brentford down to 12 or 13 players:
"He showed a total lack of respect for his team-mates, for me and most importantly the supporters. He won't play again for the first team and will be in the reserves on Monday. His actions were in contrast to the fantastic spirit we've got here."
