Yeovil Town Ladies yesterday lost the 'second leg' of their League double-header against Chesham United Ladies by a 3-1 scoreline, after having beaten the same side at home 4-1 last weekend. They had held a 1-0 half time lead through Jemma Tewksbury, but conceded three times during the second period to send the South West Women's Combination Football League into a four horse race.
Newquay Ladies who had been leading the table until recently didn't play and found themselves slip to fourth. Havant and Waterlooville continue to lead the table despite a surprise 1-1 home draw against Cullompton Rangers, whilst Chesham's win ensured that they swapped places with Yeovil for the second week running.
Crucially, Yeovil in third have a game in hand over the top two clubs that would send them top - provided of course that they win it. But realistically any of the to four clubs will feel they have a chance of winning the league, with even 5th placed Plymouth Argyle not out of the hunt whilst just four points adrift - particularly as Argyle's next match is a home game against Yeovil Town Ladies, due to be played on Sunday 28th March.
