17 March 2010 : Yeovil Town Sign Up Arsenal Defender
Yeovil Town have signed 18 year old central defender Luke Ayling on loan from Premier League side Arsenal. Luke was born on August 25, 1991 in London and is captain of Arsenal's Reserve side. He has yet to notch up a first team appearance. He will be at Huish Park for an initial month, with presumably the option to extend if all goes well.

Luke was given his first professional contract by the Gunners in the summer of 2009, having signed scholarship forms two years previously. His first season at scholarship level appeared to be somewhat flakey, but he was awarded a full professional deal after an outstanding season for the Under-18s and Reserves during the 2008-09 season. He has now completed eight years with the North London club.

Luke played in every minute of Arsenal's FA Youth Cup winning season last year and also added nine appearances for the Reserves. He plays mainly in the centre of defence, but can also deputise as a right-back or in midfield.

Welcome aboard Luke, and here's hoping he is as successful as the last three players to arrive on loan at Huish Park from a London Premier League club.
