Yeovil Town Ladies won a crucial South West Women's Combination League match this afternoon as they comfortably beat promotion rivals Chesham United 4-1. It was the first of a double-header, with the ladies travelling to Chesham's ground next Sunday, and it ensured that the Glovers leapfrogged Chesham in the table, with Yeovil still having a game in hand. The result puts Yeovil at least third, depending on the outcome Havant and Waterlooville's weekend fixture.
Jemma Tewksbury put Yeovil 2-0 up by half time, with two goals from Lindsey Roe in the second period recording a 4-1 win for the league's top scorers.
Yeovil Town Ladies Reserves had their match against Bude Town Ladies postponed, due to Bude going through an injury crisis. The Cornish side were only able to raise six players for the match, and so the South West Women’s Football League fixture was called off.
