Yeovil Town loan pair Steven Caulker and Ryan Mason picked up England caps yesterday as part of England Under 19s 1-1 draw with Holland at the Mandemakers Stadium in Waalwijk. England had taken a 7th minute lead through Jacob Mellis and held that advantage until four minutes from the end. However, an own goal from Reece Brown four minutes from time saw the Dutch equalise as a free kick deflected off the defenders head in this friendly international.
Steven Caulker played the first 45 minutes of the match, starting the game, before being replaced by Brown in the centre of defence. Meanwhile Ryan Mason came on as a 61st minute substitute, with England using all eighteen squad players throughout the evening.
There was no luck for England Under-21s goalkeeper Alex McCarthy last night. He was edged out of the final squad selected for their match, as first choice keepers Scott Loach and Frank Fielding got the nod. England Under 21s lost 2-1 to Greece at the Keepmoat Stadium, Doncaster in a UEFA European Championship qualifying match. The end result is that Greece have gone five points clear at the top of England's group leaving the Three Lions with a mountain to climb if they are to overhaul the group leaders.
