The January Transfer Window has closed now, with no incoming or outgoing transfers from Huish Park on Deadline Day. The main bit of activity for Yeovil Town actually came right at the start of the transfer window when a number of players were shown the door, and a couple of loan signings had new deals set up for the second half of the season.
Overall, in terms of net gains and losses, there was one brand new arrival with Owain Tudur Jones signing a one month loan deal from Norwich City, whilst Andy Lindegaard and George O'Callaghan both left the club. Fringe players Louis Lavers and Sam Lechmere also were let go, after their short term deals at the club expired.
Four senior players gained new deals with the club, as Terrell Forbes and Jean-Paul Kalala were given further short term contracts at the club. Meanwhile loan pair Shaun MacDonald and Alex McCarthy both had new deals established, although the closure of the transfer window means that it is unlikely - unless we've misinterpreted the terms of McCarthy's loan - that he will be able to stay until the end of the season. His back-up keeper Richard Martin headed out for match practice at Grays Athletic.
Overall though, the Glovers squad resembles roughly what it did going into the transfer window, which as we hinted at the start of the month may have been the best that the club can have hoped for, with no rumours of bids for any of their current playing squad. As suspected, trying to find decent players on free transfers halfway through the season was a tricky task - even the one that manager Terry Skiverton did find - midfielder Arron Davies - turned out to be a false dawn.
A full League One Deadline Day round-up will be on this site later tonight.
