Three matches have been selected for live transmission for the FA Cup First Round. We say 'transmission' given that only two of them are via a television service, with the first ever screening of a live FA Cup match over the internet taking place.
The more orthodox matches are that of Paulton Rovers' home match against Norwich City which will take place on Saturday 7th November with a 12.45p.m. kick-off. The second is Northwich Victoria's home tie against Charlton Athletic which will take place on Sunday 8th November with a 1.30p.m. kick-off. Both of these will be live on ITV1. The latter game will be followed by the Second Round draw around 3.35p.m.
The final match is Oldham Athletic's home match against Leeds United, which will be screened on the Football Associaton's website, powered by the Perform distribution network - i.e. the PTV company that supply most Football League clubs' Official Websites. There will be no charge for this service, and it looks to be the FA filling the gap caused by the collapse of the Setanta channels.
For First Round (and Second Round) replays, the ITV4 channel will be covering one replay, with a second replay covered on the FA's website, again on a free-of-charge basis.
