England's opening fixture in the Victory Shield tournament saw them edge out Wales in a tight game tonight at Huish Park. The Under-16s match saw a 76th minute goal decide the match, with Zak Ansah glancing a near post header home after Wales had failed to clear their lines from a free kick where England had seconds before struck the woodwork. In what was an 80 minute match, the Welsh had little time to respond in a match affected by heavy rain, and so the Three Lions came out on top by a 1-0 scoreline in front of 3,700 spectators.
Final Score: England Under 16s 1 Wales Under 16s 0.
