Yeovil Town's on-loan midfielder/striker Ryan Mason enhanced his credentials this afternoon by scoring for England. The Tottenham Hotspur loan player played 90 minutes against Slovakia and netting the first in a 2-0 win in England Under-19s third and final Qualifying Group game in Slovenia this afternoon.
Chelsea's Jacob Mellis came off the bench and needed just four minutes to impress, by scoring England's second. With the Under-19s having won all three matches in Slovenia, they progress comfortably through to the next stages of the competition.
There was no sign of Steven Caulker this afternoon, who played 90 minutes on Sunday. Hopefully though that is no cause for alarm, given that Head Coach Noel Blake has been adopting some significant squad rotation in what has been a hectic schedule for the Three Lions, with three matches played since they arrived in Slovenia late last week.
Ryan and Steven will now return to England to team back up with Yeovil Town. It's somewhat doubtful that they will be able to participate in any Thursday training session with the Glovers, but hopefully will be available for the Friday training session ahead of Saturday's match against Carlisle United.
