Indispensable midfielder Lee Johnson spoke to press after helping his side bag three important points in the top-of-the-table clash against Southend last weekend.

Qu: I know that you wont want to say that you are promoted but would you say that you are as good as playing League One football next season?

LJ: There is still work to be done but this win is probably the biggest win in Yeovils history. We arent celebrating promotion, we are celebrating a good win.

Qu: I dont suppose that you have played in many games as big as this one?

LJ: It was the biggest game in my career today and I am delighted with the result. I am going to enjoy the win it but not go over the top.

Qu: There were some incredible scenes at the end of the game. Southend looked as though they had lost a cup final while you were looking as though you won one.

LJ: We will enjoy the win but at the end of the day there is still a bit to do and plus we want the championship. We want to put on a good show against Lincoln and hopefully win the game because I have worked so hard and I want a medal.

Qu: A point is all that you need against Lincoln but I expect you will be going for nothing less than a win.

LJ: Of course we will go for all three points because we want to win the league but obviously if everyone is winning with five minutes to go and we are drawing then might have to hold on for a draw.

Qu: It doesnt look like anyone will be able to catch-up with Phil Jevons for the golden boot award having scored his 28th of the campaign.

LJ: Its great for Jevo and hopefully that will guarantee him top goal scorer, which he deserves.

Qu: You must have been delighted at being named along with four other of your colleagues for the PFA team of the season?

LJ: I feel that to be voted by your peers as one of the best players in your league is great. I respect that award very much and that will take pride on my mantelpiece. It was nice that some of the Chelsea players were supportive towards us as it gives us a boost when they encouraged us to do well.

Qu: Is it too ridiculous to say that one day you might be playing against the likes of Chelsea on a regular basis?

LJ: I dont think that it is at all. I think we could definitely do it and I have seen a lot of other clubs do it before. We have got a big fan base, the board is backing the manager as are the players and when you have got that combination, you are only going to go in one direction.

Qu: You are winning a lot of admirers. It must be nice that very rarely are Yeovil criticised.

LJ: It is nice when people mention you and say that you are a good side. I think we are always proving people wrong. I remember in the Conference they said that you cant win it with two small midfielders and they said it this year.

Qu: There must be nothing better than being at a side that destined for bigger things each season.

LJ: We have worked hard to get to where we are whether it is going to the gym, yoga, nutritionist. We are a reasonably young squad and we are not in our prime yet so if we keep improving, who knows where we can take this club.
