Yeovil Town Caretaker Manager Neale Marmon spoke to local journalist Chris Spittles, in an interview for BBC Somerset, just before kick-off against Colchester United on Monday 22nd April 2019. Yeovil went on to draw the match by a 1-1 scoreline.

CS: Neale let's talk team news. First of all you've got Rhys Browne back. That's a huge boost as he's been missing for several weeks now.

NM: Absolutely. He started at right-back several weeks ago. Then he had that injury at Port Vale. He loves that position and I like him in that position as well.

CS: Another change as well. Jake Gray is back in.

NM: Yes, with fresh legs. We need someone on the right hand side anyway, and he's played there before. So we made the decision to play him there, and we're pushing Alex Dobre up from the left-hand side to see if we can counter-attack.

CS: Just tell me about that, as that intruiges me. He has played centrally, as he played centrally at Forest Green away and actually did impact the game. So tell us about your thoughts of him playing in that role?

NM: Well what we're going to try to do is to make it very difficult for them. We'll pull back, let them have their space in their own half and try to stop them playing through us, and get them on the counter-attack.

CS: Alex Dobre has got so much ability. You just need to get him on the ball as much as possible. Will a central role help that happen?

NM: Well we're giving him a free role around Courtney Duffus. Obviously if there's a space behind the defenders, then we might get him in on the counter-attack.

CS: I'll ask you about Colchester. They're obviously going for the play-offs, and they're going to come here highly motivated.

NM: Well obviously it's getting towards the end of the season. We're motivated not to go down, and they're motivated to go up maybe. We're in the relegation (zone) and they're after the play-off places. It doesn't make any difference who we're playing. We've got to look at ourselves and perform to their potential, and hopefully we'll get the three points today.

CS: You've got a couple of extra attacking options on the bench today, with Gabby Rogers and Yoann Arquin. Have they been impressing you in training and that's why they've been included?

NM: They've all been training very well. It's just the fact that we pick a squad to do a job on that game day. Gabby was left out as we felt defensively he had a few problems going back. But he's always been very good in attack anyway. So he's an option. We've got Francois Zoko; we've got Alex Fisher and we've got Yoann Arquin on the bench.

CS: So lots of attacking options. Just tell us about Ryan Seager. He's not involved today, so what's the prognosis with him?

NM: Well he didn't train yesterday. We said that anyone who didn't train yesterday wasn't going to be involved today. So we've left him out, and then he'll be ready for next week.

CS: I've already seen lots of fans turning up here at Huish Park. Easter Monday, the sun is out. You need those fans behind you and it looks like it's going to be a good crowd this afternoon.

NM: Well basically it's a massive stage for the players. There's no reason to not be motivated at all. They love that sort of situation where it's a bigger crowd, the weather is right, the end of the season, a big game. You've got to love it as a footballer.
