Yeovil Town Caretaker Manager Neale Marmon spoke to local journalist Chris Spittles, in an interview for BBC Somerset, just before kick-off against Crewe Alexandra on Friday 19th April 2019. Yeovil went on to lose the match by a 2-0 scoreline.

CS: Neale here we are at Crewe. It's a glorious afternoon; lovely and sunny. Let's talk team news. Omar Sowunmi is back. Is that a necessary change, because there's no Gary Warren today?

NM: Absolutely. He had an injury 14 days ago. We decided he would only come back when he was fully fit. He's worked for two weeks very hard, and he's fit enough anyway.

CS: You'll be looking for leadership from him, because he's been your captain.

NM: We've got to replace Gary anyway. He'll be out for the rest of the season. Omar is chomping at the bit. He wants to really play. We're going to change it up front and bring Alex Fisher back on. We're taking Daniel Ojo out of the team, and have Tom James in there at left-back. I think at the moment that personnel-wise it's the strongest team that we could put out.

CS: In midfield, you've gone for Sessi D'Almeida and Alex Pattison. I think it's the first time you've been able to select those two for a start, because of fitness and suspension issues.

NM: Absolutely, we're happy that their both fully fit now. I had to hold Sessi back a little bit because he wasn't really fit, and he wasn't exactly doing it for me. I think both of those are the best combination that we can put on the pitch today.

CS: You mentioned Alex Fisher back today, so you are pairing him and Ryan Seager. You obviously like what you've seen from them in training this week.

NM: Yes, I tried to go with Courtney Duffus for a couple of weeks to see how he performed. I spoke to him this morning and said that he wasn't up to the game properly. Alex Fisher has come on and made an impact every time, and so we go for Fisher today.

CS: Lots of talk over the last few weeks. This is the weekend when you've got to get it done, isn't it? The game today on Friday, and the game on Monday, you have to have a points accumulation when we sit down after Monday's game.

NM: That's our thought. We don't know but we can't keep relying on other people to do anything for us. We've got to go out there and do our business. I'm sure the boys will be up for it. They've digested the game last week very well. They trained Monday and Tuesday very well. We had a short session yesterday (Thursday) at Aston Villa and the lads have looked very good.

CS: That's a bit of a bonus isn't it, being able to stop off at Aston Villa, due to Paul Terry's links, on the way up here?

NM: Absolutely - what a training ground! It's a nice experience for the boys to have a training session there. We've been there three times, and they love going there.

CS: What do you make of Crewe? What sort of a challenge do they present today?

NM: It's a funny situation, because they have got nothing to do with promotion or relegation. They can play freely. They can even change their team around today. I don't know who is going to go out for them. They could put the kids in - we don't know. So we've got to concentrate upon our game. I don't think they will change their gameplan very much. They've played that all this season. So we'll take what we've got for information and see how we deal with it.
