Phil Jevons talked to the media after scoring Yeovils first goal in the 4-3 win against in-form Gillingham at Huish Park.

Qu: Was it a penalty in your view?

PJ: Yeah, yeah definitely. Their fans were giving me a little bit of stick but you come to expect that. He (Brent Sancho) gave me a little tug and that was enough - I went down and he (the referee) gave him a red card. He probably feels hard done by the fact that he has got a red card more than the fact that he gave a penalty because it was a definite penalty. Then it was a case of trusting what I usually do. The way I take penalties paid off once again.

Qu: There was a good two minutes between the incident and the penalty - you seemed to have dealt with the nerves well.

PJ: There has been quite a few penalties, especially last season, where I have had to wait a little while. You have just got to keep your concentration really and not to get distracted by what is going on around you.

Qu: It was four 4-1 within the hour after some superb football at times.

PJ: I felt that we got on top of them especially at the start of the first half. We really went for it and it was more of a power play than anything else. The finishing was quality today and it has won us the game.

Qu: Why did Gillingham come back so strongly in the last half-hour do you think?

PJ: You could say that we took our foot off the pedal but I dont think work-rate wise we did. I just think that we did a little bit mentally. We thought that we had won the game. They got a boost from a lucky deflected goal and before you know the fellow (Andrew Crofts) hooks one into the top corner. It was just a case after that of doing the percentages and getting it into the corner. I must admit that it was quite scary towards the end.

Qu: With just two games left, where do you think that this result leaves you - you are not quite safe yet are you but it goes a long way towards securing your League One status?

PJ: You have just said it. It was a massive three points here today. It was vital that we won. We have got a tough game away at Huddersfield but I am sure that we can stay up with the quality that we have showed today in parts. The lads have so much passion and are so dedicated to the cause. The lads are disappointed in there (the dressing room) the way we conceded those two goals and that shows just how much it means to us.
