4 August 2008 : 2008-09 Achieve By Unity Fans Partnership Meeting Supporters Representatives Profiles
The following articles are self-penned submissions by the Yeovil Town supporters that have put themselves forward for election to the 2008-09 Achieve By Unity Fans Partnership Meeting. This is to help you make your selection if there are supporters whose names you do not immediately recognise.

Voting will close at 5.00p.m on Thursday 4th September. Please select SEVEN representatives. We'll accept less than seven votes, but do not select more than seven on the voting form, or your vote may be discounted. We'd strongly recommend that you read all eleven profiles before heading to the voting form.

Supporter profiles, in no particular order, are as follows:

Martin McConachie
2008/09 will be my 36th season as a Yeovil fan. Iíve travelled from non-league to League; from Leigh to Leeds and Yeovil have given me fantastic memories along the way. Iíd like the opportunity to make other peopleís journey equally rewarding. As a supporterís rep last season, I helped push through such supporter benefits as season ticket incentives and the abandonment of premium pricing. I can see things from many perspectives; as a supporter, a father and as a businessman, all of whom need different things from YTFC. Given the chance again, I am confident in repeating these successes

Richard Culham
I have been a football fan all of my life and have always supported my local club. My experiences of football range therefore from lower league to the old first division. One of the key reasons for becoming a season ticket holder 5 years ago was that Huish Park is a welcoming and enjoyable place to visit. Further success on the pitch should be matched by continually improving facilities, services and liaison with fans. The club needs fans money and we must have value for money in return. As a member of the ABUFP I can't influence pitch performance but can work to ensure that fans views are raised and represented.

Pete Brooks
I have supported Yeovil Town Football Club since I was nine years old. I am 67 years old, a season ticket holder in the Agusta Westland stand. I served on the committee last season as a Supporter Representative. I am sure I made a worthwhile contribution to the committee. I was instrumental in getting the safety posts erected on the path leading to Abbey Manor, rear of the Cowlin stand for fans safety. I am fully able to represent my fellow supporters on all aspects to be discussed, as I did last year.

Fred Bates
During the years that I have supported YTFC I, plus my family have supported the club at both home and away matches through the good times and the bad. I have also supported the club by working as a turnstile operator and worked voluntarily in the ticket office. I feel that the Achieve by Unity Fans Partnership will benefit from me becoming part of the committee as I have the time and experience to bring mature ideas to the meetings and participate in discussions

Pete Turner
I have been a supporter and season ticket holder for some years. Where we sit I have made quite a few friends with other supporters. As you maybe well aware there are many comments made about various things happening at Y.T.F.C. I am certain that most of these could be discussed and maybe investigated and I would expect a benefit of the club in general. I am sure a two way conversation can only be a good thing for the club and all supporters alike. As I am retired and I can give my full support to all supporters I would like represent them at the regular meetings you have.

Marilyn Taylor
I am an older female supporter, a season ticket holder & am a loyal follower of the club. I would like to be part of the group who tries to achieve what is best for our club. Whilst speaking up on matters I think important, I appreciate this may be my point of view and I am willing to listen to what others have to say and acknowledge when they are right & I am wrong!

Len Brooker
My name is Len Brooker, I am 67 years old and a senior season ticket holder and sit in Block C of the Westland Agusta Community stand I have rarely missed a home match at Huish Park in the last 10 years. Following my retirement from Westlandís I worked at the football club full time for 2 years in various roles including overseeing the extension and covering of the home terrace. I am retired so have free time to undertake a role at the club and therefore I may be a suitable candidate as a supporters' representative.

David Burnett
A Huish Park regular for last 10 years since moving to Yeovil - so only modern thinking. A season ticket holder and a member of the GWSC. I am experienced in marketing, budgeting, projects and meetings, following a progressive career to director level in the broadcast equipment business. Taking early retirement to be main carer for my disabled wife I have a good understanding and great sympathy for the needs of the disabled. I prioritize objective directivity in communication to slavish PC, and always ensure that criticism is deserved and constructive. My hopes for YTFC are for entertaining football and balanced progression in playing and infrastructure terms within the confines of a sensible budget

Kevin Farley
I am 52yrs of age and have been a supporter for over 40yrs, mostly as a season ticket holder. I have lived in Bournemouth for the last 30 yrs. I understand the financial restrictions associated with the club but believe that the match day experience can be much improved with little cost and additional financial rewards to the club. The club catering is nowhere near what it should be. I am not prepared to queue and miss the start of the second half; I have ideas on how this can be improved. The club bar is another area that needs attention and the car parking. I would appreciate it I could voice my ideas on these subjects, as I along with many others would spend more on match days if the facilities were more attractive.

Dave Lilly
I am Dave Lilly and I presently run the Yeovil Town Supporters Football Team. Over the last 3 years I have attended both CCM and ABUFP meetings bringing a lot of ideas, some of which have been followed through. With no previous commercial or business experience, I am able to look at problems with a fresh perspective and try and offer new suggestions. In addition I work at the Air Station and have offered team building experiences to the first team that have been accepted.

Cyril Pomeroy
Why do I think I might be any good in the fans partnership, well I think the club have come a long way, but I would like to see us go to the next level, I think we need to improve in some areas within the club, to become a bit slicker and more professional. I think we can only do this by working together, the board, the management, and the fans. There's always a possibility that the bigger a club gets the more remote the club can get from the fans. The fans are the life blood of any club, so in my opinion it's vitally important to keep the fans informed of the direction in which the club is going.
