09/01/2012 : WWOYTB : Update Bulletin No.2
9 January 2012 : Update Bulletin No.2
With the first WWOYTB Survey now completed, we plan to move swiftly on to the next stage of the survey process which will look at attendance habits at Huish Park. Again, we will ask The Western Gazette if they will publicise our survey and aims, and will report back on their answer to our request. Unfortunately, the expected help from the paper to publicise the first survey didn't materialise, but we are optimistic that the paper will appreciate the significance of the results of Survey No.1 and accordingly report on those, in addition to helping us spread the word about the next survey.

We have informed the club of the survey details and have invited a response, and if one is forthcoming we will of course make it known.

Foodstore proposals have not been submitted to South Somerset District Council as a full planning application in December as the club had hoped. Of course, WWOYTB acknowledges it is only just past that mark, and that with such complex issues it is commonplace for things to get in the way of good intention.

Perhaps an application will be submitted very soon, but if days and weeks pass without that, our hope is that the club keep communicating about the development and acknowledge any delay along with any reasons applicable should it lengthen into a significant amount of time. Just as manager Terry Skiverton thought it wise to discus football matters with 'the angry fan' who gave him grief after the Exeter match, the club could take note of The Survey by understanding that silence breeds a frustration that ultimately can affect attendances.

The angry fan incident itself has caused much debate. WWOYTB can see both sides here: that the manager certainly should not be subjected to personal abuse and that anyone can be capable of letting go of their dignity when frustration is compounded. Fair play to the manager for understanding and listening to the supporter, but it stands in contrast to the frustration of a large section of mild-mannered supporters who cannot get the club to debate or consider extensive on and off-field concerns. For example, the despondency is deep and widespread following Tony Elbourn's completely non-abusive request for an open meeting that was refused by the club.

Meanwhile, WWOYTB will repeat its hope to The Western Gazette that the paper will question whether the club's arrangement with Blue Sky International might be compromised or unaffected following matters at Port Vale.

We hope to update soon on issues, including an initiative we have in the pipeline and a brief appraisal of how WWOYTB view planning issues concerning the proposed development.

And finally, like all Yeovil Town fans we await with interest today's Press Conference, but with so many rumours flying about we look forward to seeing just what is going on first before commenting!
