3 June 2010 : Club Announces Restructuring Proposal
The board of Yeovil Town Football Club has announced its plans to further develop the Club and the Yeovil Town brand through the formation of a new company called Yeovil Town Holdings Limited.

Shareholders in Yeovil Football & Athletic Club will be offered the opportunity to exchange their shares in the Football Club for an equal number of shares in Yeovil Town Holdings Limited.

This restructure is expected to provide the directors of YTFC the opportunity to focus on specific business activities in order to establish newer and bigger income streams to support the Club's ambitious football plans over the next decade.

Documentation providing full details of the restructuring proposal will be arriving with all shareholders in the next few days.

Chairman John Fry said "We have already started the process of developing and strengthening the Yeovil Town brand through the setting up of our sister and subsidiary organisations; the Yeovil Town Community Sports Trust and the Yeovil Town Centre of Excellence."

"During the past three years, the progress of these two separate businesses has been very beneficial to the running of our Club and our aim now is to create a Yeovil Town Holding Company which will enable the directors to focus specifically on the development of our Football and Huish Park assets and facilitate the enhancement of our brand."

Mr Fry continued "The recent and current economic climate has made it considerably more challenging to secure the necessary interest in any potential club developments. The professional advice received has indicated that it will be significantly easier to attract the appropriate investment if our property assets are separated from the Football Club."

"In recommending this action to our shareholders, we are emulating a similar process to that already taken by a number of other football clubs who have sought to maintain the integrity of their assets. Realising the development potential of the site at Huish Park is absolutely essential for the Club to generate new income streams to maintain its financial viability and become a force in League One."

He closed by saying "The Board of Directors are unanimous in recommending the restructuring in order to raise the capital necessary to achieve the Football Club's mission goals. We need to attract the right investment partners and as part of this process, we are now asking our shareholders to endorse and support the restructuring proposals."
